RANGE CLOSED FOR TRAINING Thursday, Aug 28,2008
The range will be hosting a police department SWAT team for training. The range will reopen for normal use on Friday.
THIS WEEKEND IS BRRC's FALL PICNIC
Be there or be square. It's time for the fall picnic this Sunday, August 30th. Be sure to let Wayne know if you are coming and how many so we can plan how much food to prepare.
SEPTEMBER 14th IS THE INTERMEDIATE HIGHPOWER CLINIC
Our CMP program has introduced many new shooters to the sport. Here's an opportunity to learn some of the finer
points of the game. Cost for the day is $35 per attendee. There will be lectures, practice and practical
phases covering each of the positions. You'll need to bring your gear to the clinic. If you don't have a
scorebook yet order one from from Creedmoor Sports before the clinic. Let Wayne or Dennis know if
you'll be attending. Capacity is limited.
SEPTEMBER IS ALSO CMP 200-YARD MATCH MONTH
The largest highpower tournament in the Western United States, the CMP Western Games and Creedmoor Cup,
will take place in October at the Ben Avery Range in Phoenix, Arizona. To allow people preparing to
go to this match an opportunity to fire CMP Course A at full distance, BRRC's September 3rd Sunday CMP
Clinic and Match will be held on the 200-yard line. Experienced competitors will fire first and are
expected to support the clinic students as scorers, pit pullers and coaches later in the day. This is
all part of what real matches are like. So for many of you this is the first time you'll see the famous
warning "competitors who refuse to serve will be disqualified." You are encouraged to use a CMP rule
compliant rifle with ball ammo for this event to maximize the training effect.

c. Meaning of the Operative Clause. Putting all of
these textual elements together, we find that they guarantee
the individual right to possess and carry weapons in
case of confrontation. This meaning is strongly confirmed
by the historical background of the Second Amendment.
We look to this because it has always been widely understood
that the Second Amendment, like the First and
Fourth Amendments, codified a pre-existing right. The
very text of the Second Amendment implicitly recognizes
the pre-existence of the right and declares only that it
“shall not be infringed.” - page 19, Decision 07-290, The Supreme Court of the United States of America

A Reason to Excel
Why work hard to become a Distinguished shooter? Because our country needs the skill. Once again the U.S. Army needs every rifle squad to have a designated marksman. Teaching this many soldiers to shoot well takes qualified instructors. See how civilians are being recruited to help fill those ranks.
