PURPOSE OF MATCH: These matches are held to promote rifle marksmanship and to establish NRA high power rifle classifications across the full course (200/300/600 yards). NRA membership is encouraged but not required.

MATCH SCHEDULE: This will be an 80 shot match fired at 200, 300, and 600 yards. See COURSE OF FIRE below for stage details. The order in which the stages are fired is at the discretion of the Match Director. The Match Director may also elect to have the slow-fire stages (1 and 4) fired concurrently and to have the rapid-fire stages (2 and 3) fired concurrently.

COURSE OF FIRE:

  • Stage 1. Standing position at 200 yards, 2 sighting shots and 20 shots for record in a time limit of 22 minutes.
  • Stage 2. Sitting or kneeling position at 200 yards, 2 sighting shots in a time limit of 2 minutes and two ten (10) shot rapid-fire string for score in a time limit of 60 seconds.
  • Stage 3. Prone position at 300 yards, 2 sighting shots in a time limit of 2 minutes and two ten (10) shot rapid-fire string for score in a time limit of 70 seconds.
  • Stage 4. Prone position at 600 yards, 2 sighting shots and 20 shots for record in a time limit of 22 minutes.
Note: Come prepared for an 800 Aggregate but be aware that the BRRC Match Director has the discretion to convert the match to a 50-shot NMC if required.

RULES: Current NRA High Power Rifle Rules will apply.

EQUIPMENT: Any qualifying center-fire high power rifle may be used (see NRA Rules 3.1 and 3.3). Sighting shots must be taken and are not convertible for score (see Rule 9.2).

PURPOSE OF MATCH: These tournaments are held to provide a venue for participation, to promote good sportsmanship and good rifle marksmanship and to establish NRA HP Rifle Medium Range classifications. NRA membership is encouraged but not required.

MATCH SCHEDULE: A 60 shot long range prone match will be fired in three separate stages using any rifle and any sight. Competitors are required to perform scoring duties and to operate the targets in the pits for each other. Any competitor failing to do so may be disqualified and have their entry fee forfeited. If necessary, the stages listed below may be fired in a different sequence than listed below. If deemed necessary, match director may revise the course of fire. It is likely that pit duty will not be exactly evenly divided amongst competitors but every attempt will be made to balance this duty consistent with minimizing the duration of the match.

COURSE OF FIRE:

  • Stage 1. Slow fire prone: unlimited sighting shots and 20 shots for record in a time limit of 30 minutes; fired on the MR-1 target at 600 yd using any rifle and any sights.
  • Stage 2 - slow fire prone: 2 sighting shots and 20 shots for record in a time limit of 22 minutes; fired on the MR-1 target at 600 yd. using any rifle and any sights.
  • Stage 3 - slow fire prone: 2 sighting shots and 20 shots for record in a time limit of 22 minutes; fired on the MR-1 target at 600 yd. using any rifle and any sights.

Normal capacity of 20 shooters. At the discretion of the Match Director, overflow competitors may be assigned to fire the course on reduced targets at 300-yards to raise maximum capacity to 40 shooters.

RULES: Current NRA High Power Rifle Rules will apply. The match is open to any rifle conforming to NRA HP Rifle Rule 3.2 using any sight (NRA rule 3.7(c)).

EQUIPMENT:

  • 3.2 Any Rifle-A rifle with no restrictions on sights or accessories, except that it must be safe to competitors and range personnel. Ammunition will be restricted to no larger than .35 caliber. The provisions of Rule 3.16.1 apply to this definition.
  • 3.7 Sights (c) Any- Any sight without restriction as to material or construction…
  • 3.16.1 Compensators and Muzzle Brakes-The use of compensators or muzzle brakes is prohibited. (The California legal muzzle device on M1A’s is excepted from this restriction).
  • F Class – You are welcome to come and participate with F-class rifles and equipment but scores will not be used to determine match winner and will not be submitted to the NRA for classification.

PURPOSE OF MATCH: The purpose of these matches is to provide an opportunity for new and beginning shooters to learn and practice high power rifle shooting techniques. Instruction will be offered before the match and experienced coaches will be on the line to assist beginning shooters. These matches are Sanctioned by the Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP). Participants using an as-issued M-1 Garand, M1903/A3 Springfield or Vintage Military Rifle will be eligible for CMP Achievement Awards. All participants completing the Clinic and Match will be issued a CMP Participation Certificate that can be used to qualify to purchase an M-1 Garand rifle from the CMP.

COURSE OF FIRE:
CMP Course A. This will be a 30 shot match fired at either 100 yards or 200 yards on SR-1 targets. See below for details. There will be a single five minute sighting period prior to beginning Stage 1. No additional sighting shots will be taken during the match except as may be authorized by the Match Director.

  • CMP Stage 1. 10 shots slow fire, prone position. 10 minute time limit.
  • CMP Stage 2. 10 shots rapid fire, prone position (from standing). One ten shot string, 70-second time limit.
  • CMP Stage 3. 10 shots slow fire, standing position. 10 minute time limit.

Scores reporting to CMP
Official CMP scorecards will be used. Any center-fire high power rifles with metallic sights (CMP Rule 6 and NRA Rule 3.2) may be used to fire the match. Scores will only be reported to the CMP for the following categories.

  • As-Issued M-1 Garand
  • U.S, M1903/A3 Springfield
  • Vintage Military Rifle
  • U.S. M-1 Carbine
  • Accurized M-1 Garand
  • Modern Military Rifle
For instance, Steyr AUG's, Sig 556's, H&K 91's as well as stock AR-15 and M-4 Carbine clones would compete as Modern Military Rifles. Accurized Service Rifles (M-14/M1A and M-16/AR-15) and NRA/ISU Match Rifles are not elibible to compete. Shooters firing ineligible rifles can qualify for clinic completion certificates but will be firing for practice only otherwise.

There will be a minimum of two (2) relays per training day. Experienced shooters are encouranged to fire during the first relay and remain to assist new shooters firing the second relay. The CMP M-1 Clinic will take place during Relay 1. All new participants are required to attend the clinic. Advanced practice and coaching, when available, will take place after the match.

RULES: Current CMP Rules shall apply.

Burbank R&R Club M1 Garand rifles will be available for use. Please notify the match director prior to the match if you wish to use a club rifle. Caliber .30-'06 ammo may also be purchased for use in the match. All competitors must use shooting glasses and hearing protectors. A shooting coat is recommended. Shooting mats will be provided.

START TIME: Arrive at the range between 8:00 to 8:30am.

Tactical Precision Rifle Match

PURPOSE OF MATCH: The purpose of these matches is to provide participants the opportunity to advance their mastery of the rifle.

COURSE OF FIRE:
Varies. Targets from 1/2 MOA and larger presentation. Distance of fire from 100 to 1,000 yards including unknown distances. Positions vary. Individual or team competition formats. Occasional integration of pistol stages. Walking and carrying equipment typically required.

This is a club match. Scores are not reported.

There will be a minimum of two (2) relays per training day. Experienced shooters are encouranged to fire during the first relay and remain to assist new shooters firing the second relay. The CMP M-1 Clinic will take place during Relay 1. All new participants are required to attend the clinic. Advanced practice and coaching, when available, will take place after the match.

RULES: Whatever the match director's diabolical mind can come up with.

START TIME: Arrive at the range between 7:00 to 7:30am.

Limited competitor slots. This is an all day match.

Rimfire Round Up

PURPOSE OF MATCH: The purpose of these matches is to provide participants an opportunity employ the rimfire rifle at extended distances.

MATCH SCHEDULE: A 45 shot smallbore prone match will be fired in three separate stages using any rifle and any sight. Competitors are required to perform scoring duties and to operate the targets in the pits for each other. Any competitor failing to do so may be disqualified and have their entry fee forfeited. If necessary, the stages listed below may be fired in a different sequence than listed below. If deemed necessary, match director may revise the course of fire. It is likely that pit duty will not be exactly evenly divided amongst competitors but every attempt will be made to balance this duty consistent with minimizing the duration of the match.

COURSE OF FIRE:

  • Stage 1. Slow fire prone: unlimited sighting shots and 15 shots for record in a time limit of 40 minutes. Pair fired, two to a mound.
  • Stage 2. Slow fire prone: unlimited sighting shots and 15 shots for record in a time limit of 40 minutes. Pair fired, two to a mound.
  • Stage 3. Slow fire prone: unlimited sighting shots and 15 shots for record in a time limit of 40 minutes. Pair fired, two to a mound.

Maximum capacity of 48 shooters.

RULES: Per Match Director. This is a club match. Scores are not reported.

EQUIPMENT: Any .22LR small bore rifle. Slings and/or bipods may be used but no bench rests.
